Summary

Originally from Mels, SG, I moved to the US for a job in 1988 after graduating from ETH.  I am married and have two adult children.  We have lived in Michigan since 1999 and I have worked for Swiss and German companies. For the last 15 years, I have been self-employed as a consultant and board member and do work for US and Swiss companies.  I travel to Switzerland several times per year for work and visit family.  I also read Swiss newspapers and watch SRF almost daily to stay up to date on Swiss matters. As the President of the Detroit Swiss Society since 2021, I am connected to the local Swiss community.  I would be honored to represent the Swiss in my region of the US on the Council of the Swiss Abroad.

• Born 1961 in Chur, grew up in Sargans and Mels, SG. 

• In USA since 1988, residing in Novi/MI since 1999. US citizens since 1997.  Married to Jill since 1990.  Son Alex 1992, daughter Marissa 1996

• Education: Wirtschaftsmatura Kantonsschule Sargans 1980, Dipl. Masch. Ing. ETH Zürich 1986, MBA University of Michigan 1996.  

• Professional Experience:

  • 1987-92 Miscellaneous Engineering positions, first in Switzerland at Elco and starting 1988 for MPI International in Michigan, USA.   

  • 1992-98 Plant Manager and 1998-2000 Multi plant manager for Kautex, an automotive fuel tank manufacturer 

  • 2000-05 Co-owner and president for U.S. operations for Swiss electric drive manufacturer Magnetic (sold to SKF in 2002)

  • 2005-10 CEO Swiss coatings manufacturer FLH Group, Arbon CH

  • Since 2010 professional board member at several companies – including two SIX listed companies and two Swiss private equity companies. and independent operations consultant.

• Hobbies and Interests: Skiing, Hiking, Travelling, Reading, my dogs, volunteering in charities, President of Detroit Swiss Society

• I travel to Switzerland several times every year for work and to visit family.
