Summary
My personal and professional experience as a Swiss citizen in the US offers me a unique perspective on how to strengthen the Swiss-US connection, offer community and connection, and effectively represent our Swiss community.

Detail
As a neuroscientist and psychiatry professor at the University of North Carolina and entrepreneur, my journey began at ETH Zurich, where I graduated in electrical engineering. This technical foundation has been instrumental in developing novel non-invasive brain stimulation techniques for treating depression, bridging my Swiss precision with American innovation.
My connections to Switzerland remain strong. I am an adjunct professor at the Insel Spital and greatly enjoy hosting Swiss trainees in my lab, creating a vibrant international research exchange. Despite building my career in the United States, I have maintained my Swiss identity while also embracing my new home.
Married with five children who hold dual Swiss and American citizenship, my life reflects the beautiful complexity of international academic mobility. My research not only advances neuropsychiatric treatment but also serves as a testament to the global impact of Swiss scientific excellence.
I am excited to pay forward and contribute to strengthening Swiss-US connections and advocating for the community of Swiss people abroad.
