2025 Elections - Election Process

Direct election via e-voting

The election this year will be carried out entirely by electronic means (e-voting), using a Swiss e-voting system (UniVote). This will ensure that every eligible Swiss citizen will have the possibility to choose their representatives. The election will be coordinated by an independent Election coordinator on behalf of the Organization of the Swiss Abroad (OSA), with the assistance of the Swiss Federal Government and the Embassies and Consulates present in the constituency.

Who can vote?

All Swiss citizens residing in the United States who:

• Are 18 years and above

• Are registered with the respective* Embassy or Consulate General (

• Have a valid email address registered with the Embassy or Consulate General (ensure the Embassy or Consulate General has your up-to-date contact details!)

• Voters can only vote for the candidates residing in their Consular Districts.
