
Council of Swiss Abroad - General Information
The Council of the Swiss Abroad (CSA) represents the interests of Swiss citizens abroad vis-à-vis the authorities and the public in Switzerland. The CSA is thus often referred to as the “Parliament of the Fifth Switzerland”.

The Council of the Swiss Abroad meets three times per year: in March and August (hybrid format), and in November (online only). During these meetings, delegates discuss policy issues affecting Swiss Abroad and other current political topics relevant to the community. They make decisions, form opinions, and draft resolutions, which are then submitted to the appropriate authorities.

Based on the number of registered Swiss citizens in our region—approximately 80,000—the United States is allocated eight (8) seats for the 2021-2025 legislative term. The CSA representatives for this term are as follows:
